Freshman Academic Scholarships
Brother Norbert Hueller Scholarship Any student applying to Brother Rice who scores a 95-99% on the high school placement test and maintains an "A" average in the classroom may qualify for this scholarship. A student receives $2,000 each year, provided he maintains a 3.5 GPA or better. Brother John Donnelly Scholarship Any student applying to Brother Rice who scores a 85-94% on the high school placement test and maintains an “A” average in the classroom may qualify for this scholarship. A student can receive up to $2000 for his freshman year and $1000 each additional year provided he maintains a 3.5 GPA or better. Brother Eugene Kelly Award Any student applying to Brother Rice who scores an 85% or better on the high school placement test and demonstrates academic and character excellence may qualify for a $500-$2,000 merit award for his freshman year. “Band of Brothers” Leadership Award Any student applying to Brother Rice who exhibits leadership and character excellence, receives a school official recommendation or attends the annual Catholic Leadership Conference or classes may qualify for a leadership award. Scholarships can range between $500-$3000 for one year or become renewable through the “Band of Brothers” program for each additional year. Students must be nominated for this award and awards are limited. Brother Rice “Tradition of Excellence” Scholarship A student applying to Brother Rice who exhibits academic and character excellence, scores in the 97-99% on the high school entrance exam, maintains an “A” average in the classroom, and receives a school official recommendation may qualify for this scholarship. A student can receive up to $4,000 for his freshman year and $3000 each additional year provided he maintains a 3.5 GPA or higher. Brother Rice High School uses two financial aid assessment services. Families may apply to either one or both: Sustainable Catholic Schools (SCS) -- click on 'Apply for Aid' to begin process.
