August 19, 2007:  (senior Guard) Tyrone Smith (Southfield, MI, Thompson Middle School) has enrolled at Trinity International University in Chicago, IL and will be playing basketball for the Trojans this winter.  Tyrone, who capped off a stellar Senior season by averaging 10 points per game, is the second Warrior from the 2006-07 squad to continue his basketball career in college.  He will join fellow teammate, Pat Ebbing, (Lake Forest College) in Chicago to play basketball for the next 4 years.  Congratulations to the 2 Rice graduates. 

July 17, 2007: (Senior Guard) Tyrone Smith (Southfield, MI, Thompson Middle School) has just come back from a recruiting visit to Trinity International University in Chicago, IL. He may be enrolled at Trinity in the Fall of 2007. Smith is coming off a great individual season where he scored over 10 points per game and led the team in both 3-pointers made (38), and 3-point shooting Percentage (36.9%).

July 2, 2007: Brian Kalczynski, Class of 1994, has resigned as head coach of the Varsity basketball program after 3 years of being at the helm. He gives way to Ed Shaffer who has been an Assistant coach for the past 2 years at the Varsity level as well as the JV team's head coach in 2004-05. Kalczynski helped lead the Program to a huge turn-around. The team went from 5-14 in his 1st season, to 24-17 over the next two years. The 24-17 record is the best record over a 2-year span since Frank Carrico led the 1989 and 1990 squads to a combined 32-16 record.

April 5, 2007: (Senior Forward) Pat Ebbing (Bloomfield Hills, MI, St. Hugo) has decided to play college basketball at Lake Forest College in Chicago, IL. The Senior Captain is coming off a season where he averaged 12.5 points per game and 4.9 rebounds per game. He led the team in scoring, minutes played, and charges taken.
