The Aquinas Chapter of the National Honor Society at Brother Rice takes in new members once each year in the fall. Any junior or senior who has attained a cumulative grade point average of 3.4 or better is eligible to apply for membership. The administration, faculty, and staff of the school select those students who meet the criteria in the areas of character, leadership, and service. Failure to maintain those requirements which were the basis for selection into the Society will result in probation and possible dismissal. Because the NHS is a service organization, its primary function is to serve the school and community in any way possible. Members tutor other students in any academic class offered at Brother Rice, serve as guides at Open House and College Night, provide assistance at the Auction, and contribute their services in numerous ways to community/ school projects. Seniors wear the National Honor Society gold cords on their graduation gown to demonstrate that they not only excelled in scholarship but in character, leadership, and service as well. If you have specific questions about the National Honor Society, please contact Mrs. Treboldi or Mr. Dyar via email or (248) 647-2526 ext.179 |
