Leadership Institute

The Leadership Institute was developed in 2007 to promote and develop
Christian leadership skills throughout the Brother Rice community.
The Institute recognizes Brother Rice alumni who have exhibited tremendous
leadership throughout the years. Nominees must have graduated from Rice,
been an alumnus for at least 10 years, and exhibited positive leadership during
their time at Rice and in their chosen careers. The 65 inaugural nominees listed
below, whose names, graduation years and current profession are posted above
classrooms throughout the school, were chosen by alumni.

Overview, Criteria & Selection

Purpose

The Leadership Institute was created in 2007 to recognize and promote Christian leadership skills throughout the Brother Rice community.

This special honor will recognize members of the Brother Rice family who have distinguished themselves as outstanding leaders at Brother Rice and beyond.


Criteria

The Brother Rice High School Leadership Institute will serve to honor alumni who meet the criteria listed below.

The nominee must be a graduate of Brother Rice High School, been an alumnus for at least 10 years, and demonstrated positive leadership during his time at Brother Rice and in his chosen profession.

Nominees will be considered posthumously.



Selection Committee

To be approved for induction, the candidate must have a majority of the votes from the Selection Committee.

The Selection Committee will determine the number of inductees each year based on the quality of nominations.  There will be no set limit. 

The Selection Committee will be comprised of various individuals representative of the Brother Rice community and will remain anonymous.


Selection Process

Names for nominations may be submitted by anyone for committee review.

Nominations are due June 1st of each year. The selection committee will consider all nominees.  Each year, the inductees will be honored in the Honor Roll of Investors publication and with an individual sign placed above one of the classrooms.

To submit a nomination, please either use the on-line nomination form on the Alumni site at www.brrice.edu or print out and complete the posted nomination form and send to: Brother Rice High School, ATTN: Leadership Institute, 7101 Lahser Road, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48301.

All nominations must include full name of nominee, graduation year, specific involvement, achievements, as well as the complete contact information of the nominator. Only nominations that include this information and are received by June 1st will be considered for that year’s class of inductees.
